Taking a Summer Break
It has been a long year, and the end of the semester or the season is finally in sight. I, for one, am having major wanderlust and cannot wait for the season to be over.
Don't get me wrong. It's been amazing! And looking back, like you, I can appreciate all of the very hard work and progress that has been made over this past year.
But it's time to take a well-deserved break.
Rest is a very important part of how we learn and improve. There are a lot of studies that prove that we learn faster, work better, and are more efficient when we include breaks in our lives.
So take a break. Go to the beach. Or the mountains. Breathe in fresh air and experience as much as you can to awaken your senses. Summer is a time when we have a bit more time to relax and think of other things in our lives besides practicing and excerpts.
And here's the great thing—when we take time to refresh and rejuvenate, we are filling that deep well of experience with new sensations and ideas. These are the seeds that will grow, flourish, and take us to that next level in our musical lives.
So let your brain wander down new alleyways. Eat new foods. Experience new situations. You'll be ready to come back with new energy and ideas.
Happy relaxing!
